Free testing campaign in Bruchsal on World AIDS Day on December 1, 2025
On World AIDS Day on Monday, December 1, 2025, the Health Department at the Karlsruhe District Office and ZeSIA Karlsruhe are inviting people to take part in a joint testing campaign.
Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., free and anonymous rapid HIV tests and tests for other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) will be available at the Health Department's branch office in Bruchsal, Am Alten Güterbahnhof 9. No registration is necessary.
With this campaign, the Health Department and ZeSIA want to strengthen access to low-threshold testing services and show how important open information about HIV and other STIs is. Those who know their status can address health risks early on and contribute to prevention at the same time. Even outside of the campaign day, regular testing services are available in Karlsruhe and Bruchsal.
According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute, around 96,700 people were living with HIV in Germany at the end of 2023. For 2024, 3,259 new HIV diagnoses were reported. These figures underscore that testing remains a crucial part of healthcare.
Today, HIV infection can be effectively treated if detected early. Modern therapies enable a stable and healthy life in the long term and at the same time ensure that HIV is no longer transmissible when treated successfully.
In addition to HIV, tests for chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis B and C, and syphilis are also offered. Many of these infections are hardly noticeable at first, but if left untreated, they can cause serious long-term consequences. Since most of them are easily treatable, regular checkups are particularly worthwhile.
